Sandra Martinho

Sandra has been working in climate and green business for the last 25 years. She began her professional career at NOVA FCT, where she taught environmental economics for 10 years. She collaborated in numerous studies to support environmental policy in Portugal. She was climate advisor to the Portuguese Government, national delegate to the UNFCCC and member of the European Commission's The EU Further-Action Group for Climate Change (2000/04). In 2004, she co-founded a consultancy and development company, with competence in energy and environmental engineering and economics, which was amongst the top Portuguese companies in its areas of activity. In 2005, she created the first Portuguese voluntary carbon offset scheme, with operations also in Spain and Brazil, and winner of a Stevie® Award. Specialist in natural capital economics, net zero, climate resilience and (bio-)circular economy, she has solid skills and extensive experience in executive management and consultancy, anchored in a long history of project leadership in organizations and companies from different sectors and geographies. Currently, Sandra is managing partner of Lasting Values.
