Scholarships

The Nova SBE Continuity Scholarship is an initiative aligned with the social mobility policy of Nova SBE. This program allows students who finish their Bachelor's degree at Nova SBE and are admitted to one of its Master's programs to continue to have the possibility to enjoy an education of excellence, allowing the school to support more students by broadening the eligibility threshold of the Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship, facilitating access, promoting social mobility and increasing diversity among our students.

Eligibility

Students who obtained a Bachelor’s degree at Nova SBE or who are in the process of concluding it and who were admitted to any Master’s program at Nova SBE, and whose per capita gross income is less than 40 times the value of the IAS.

Value

This scholarship can cover 50 % or 100 % of the tuition fee value of the Master’s program.

When a student is granted different scholarships within Nova SBE, the funding cannot exceed 70 % of the total amount of the tuition fee for the Master’s program, except in cases where the funding comes entirely from a 100 % social mobility scholarship.

The scholarship prize does not fund the amounts related to the application fee, the first installment of tuition paid as the enrollment fee, the CEMS program, the Double Degree program, the amount value associated with additional semesters, exchange programs, or Executive Master's programs.

Application

To apply, candidates need to show their interest in the Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship at the time of their application to the Master’s program and submit the most recent household tax return properly identified. The documents must be originals or copies, accompanied by a sworn translation into English or Portuguese if they are written in any other language.

Applications are available for the Fall and Spring Intakes, and cannot be considered after the application to the Master's program has been submitted.

Financial constraints should not stop candidates from pursuing their dreams. Therefore, Nova SBE offers a social mobility scholarship for students with a proven need for financial aid. 

Eligibility

All candidates can apply for this scholarship, regardless of their country of origin. 

Value

This scholarship can cover 20 %, 50 %, or 100 % of the tuition fee value of the Master’s program. 

When a student is granted different scholarships within Nova SBE, the funding cannot exceed 70 % of the total amount of the tuition fee for the Master’s program, except in cases where the funding comes entirely from a 100 % social mobility scholarship. 

The scholarship prize does not fund the amounts related to the application fee, the first installment of tuition paid as the enrollment fee, the CEMS program, the Double Degree Program, the amount value associated with additional semesters, exchange programs, or Executive Master's programs. 

Application

To apply, candidates need to show their interest in the Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship at the time of their application to the Master’s program, by filing the designated field for this matter in the Master’s application form and submitting the following documentation: 

  • Candidades whose household obtained and declared income in Portuguese territory: IRS Model 3 concerning the previous fiscal year available at the time of the application, complete and fully identified. 
  • Candidates in shared custody must present documentation from both legal guardians 
  • Candidates who present their own IRS Model 3 must also present the IRS Model 3 of the remaining household members, unless the candidate ensures and shows proof of their autonomous subsistence and has no financial ties to other individuals. 
  • Candidates whose household is exempt from presenting the IRS Model 3 must submit additional documentation which allows the assessment of the household’s income and financial situation 
  • Candidades whose household obtained and declared income in other territories: a household tax return concerning the most recent fiscal year, which should be a document (or documents) issued by a governmental or certified authority and should reflect your household’s composition in terms of members, gross annual income and most recent financial situation. 
  • All documents must be in Portuguese or English. If written in another language, they must be translated by a certified translation agency or translator, and must include the entire document — partial or autonomous translations are not accepted. 
  • When the tax returns are submitted individually, the candidate must present all tax returns from all the members who are a part of the household. 
  • Candidates who present their own tax return must also present the tax returns of the remaining household members, unless the candidate ensures and shows proof of their autonomous subsistence and has no financial ties to other individuals, as well as a declaration of honor stating this matter.

Eligibility

This scholarship is intended for candidates admitted to the International Master’s in Finance who indicate their interest in the Nova SBE Merit Scholarship in the Master’s application form. To be eligible, applications must meet the following requirements:

  • Program admission: Candidates must have been admitted to the Master’s in Finance or the International Master’s in Finance at Nova SBE.
  • Expression of interest: Candidates must formally express their interest in the merit scholarship.
  • Selection criteria: Candidates will be ranked based on the final score resulting from the weighting of two factors:
    • Application score;
    • Positioning of the applicant’s Bachelor’s program institution in international rankings.

Value

This scholarship can cover 20 % or 50 % of the tuition fee value of the Master’s program.

  • Be enrolled in one of the following Master’s programs: Business Analytics, Management, Finance, International Master’s in Management and International Master’s in Finance  
  • Have applied for and are eligible for a Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship or a Nova SBE Continuity Scholarship of 100 % 
  • Priority will be given to those who have a disability rating of 60% or higher. 

If there are no applications meeting the disability rating, the supplementary criterion for awarding scholarships will be based on the ranking of applications with the highest GPA.

The application for the Accenture Scholarship should be submitted by completing the application form, which will be shared with the students. The application must include, in a single PDF document

The André Sousa Bessa scholarship was created in memory of André Sousa Bessa, an esteemed Nova SBE alumnus, for his achievements and his engagement with the school.

Eligibility

This scholarship is granted to Portuguese students enrolled in the Master’s in Finance and the International Master’s in Finance, who demonstrate high academic performance and financial constraints, who are actively engaged in the community, and who applied and are eligible for a Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship of 100 %.

Value

This scholarship covers 100 % of the tuition fee value.

The scholarship prize does not fund the amounts related to the application fee, the first installment of tuition paid as the enrollment fee, the CEMS program, the Double Degree Program, the amount value associated with

additional semesters, exchange programs, or Executive Master's programs.

Application

Through the António Serrenho Scholarship, CIN reinforces its commitment to promoting education as a driver of social development. This initiative aims to support the academic journey of high-achieving students, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education or the fulfilment of their potential.

  • Have an application GPA to the Master’s program above 15.0 (0-20);
  • Have Portuguese nationality – a preference will be given to candidates born and/or living in the Setúbal area, preferably in Alcácer do Sal.

The application for the António Serrenho Scholarship should be submitted by completing the application form, which will be shared with the students. The application must include, in a single PDF document:

In a clear commitment to building an innovative and globally impactful community, Banco Primus and Nova SBE established the Banco Primus Scholarship. This scholarship provides financial support for those who are seeking to pursue an education of excellency and who, through their talent and dedication, will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled in one of the following Master’s programs: Economics, Impact Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Management, Finance, International Master’s in Management and International Master’s in Finance
  • Have a converted GPA equal to or above 15.5 (0-20)
  • Have applied for and are eligible for a Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship of 100 %
  • Have Portuguese citizenship or be a resident in Portugal.

The CEMS Alumni scholarship is a social mobility scholarship awarded by CEMS Alumni who attended the ESCR Alumni Gathering that intends to allow students with financial constraints to pursue their CEMS MIM (Year 2) studies at Nova SBE.

Eligibility

Students with high financial needs are enrolled in the CEMS MIM Year 1 program at Nova SBE.

Value

The scholarship covers part of the tuition fees for the second year of the CEMS program.

Application

The application period starts in November of the CEMS Year 1.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in the CEMS MIM Year 1 program at Nova SBE who demonstrate a high financial need.

Value

This is a need-based scholarship awarded by BNP Paribas Portugal. The scholarship is intended to cover part of the CEMS Year 2 fee. The amount allocated can be divided between up to three students.

The yearly global amount of the scholarship is € 9 200.

Application

The application period starts in November.

  • Have a gross annual per capita household income, based on the IRS declaration from the previous fiscal year, which fits in one of the tiers contemplated in the form in the Regulation on Scholarships for Access to Study Cycles 
  • Have Portuguese nationality 
  • Have a Bachelor’s converted GPA, at the time of the application to the Master’s program, of 16.5 (0-20). 

If there are no applications meeting the disability rating, the supplementary criterion for awarding scholarships will be based on the ranking of applications with the highest GPA.

Students of all nationalities who are enrolled in the Master’s in Finance, International Master’s in Finance, and Master’s in Impact Entrepreneurship & Innovation, who apply for and are considered eligible for a Nova SBE Merit Scholarship.

This scholarship covers 100 % of the tuition fee value. Accepted students must pay the first installment of the tuition paid as the enrollment fee to secure their place and be considered for this scholarship.

The Haddad Foundation wishes to promote joint efforts through education to encourage exchange among students of INSPER and Nova SBE.

Eligibility

Students who complete one successful year at Nova SBE under the Progressive Degree Program and are admitted to a Nova SBE Master's program with financial needs.

Value

The scholarship covers the payment of the tuition fee when the student is admitted into the Master’s degree.

Application

INSPER will select one student to receive a full scholarship. The selection criteria are academic excellence and financial need.

KPMG is committed to fostering social development and promoting inclusive education by supporting high-potential students. McKinsey, in an investment in the merit and social inclusion of Nova SBE students, created the McKinsey First Generation Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually and is aimed at Master's students who are the first in their families to earn a degree, with the goal of promoting social mobility, supporting academic development, and providing access to excellent education.

Elegibility 

Eligible candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in the first year of one of the following Master’s programs at Nova SBE: Business Analytics, Management, International Management, Finance, International Finance
  • Have applied for and are eligible for a Nova SBE Merit Scholarship
  • Have Portuguese nationality or have resided in Portugal for the past three years
  • Be the first in their family to obtain a university degree.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have Portuguese citizenship
  • Be enrolled in the Master’s in Business Analytics
  • Apply for and be eligible for a Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship of 100 %
  • Have a converted GPA equal to or above 14 (0-20)
     

Value

This scholarship covers 100 % of the tuition fee value. Accepted students must pay the first installment of the tuition paid as the enrollment fee to secure their place and be considered for this scholarship.

The scholarship prize does not fund the amounts related to the application fee, the CEMS program, the Double Degree Program, the fees associated with additional semesters, exchange programs, or Executive Master's programs.

To apply, candidates need to show their interest in the Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship at the time of their application to the Master’s program, by filing the designated field for this matter in the Master’s application form and submitting the most recent household tax return properly identified. Eligible candidates will receive an email with an invitation to submit a 3-minute video that must cover the following topics:

  • Introduce yourself briefly, share your interests, extracurricular/professional experiences, and relevant projects you have been involved in

The Nova SBE NOVAFRICA Knowledge Center recognizes the importance of acknowledging merit by rewarding students from sub-Saharan African countries with the highest academic potential. This scholarship promotes and empowers sub-Saharan African students who demonstrate exceptional ability, preparing them to be the future generation of leaders and change-makers who impact business and economic development in Africa.

Eligibility

Outstanding students from sub-Saharan African countries who have been accepted in a Master’s program at Nova SBE.

Value

This scholarship covers 100 %, 50 % or 20 % of the tuition fee value.

The scholarship prize does not fund the amounts related to the application fee, the first installment of tuition paid as the enrollment fee, the CEMS program, the Double Degree Program, the amount value associated with additional semesters, exchange programs, or Executive Master's Programs.

The Rodrigo Guimarães Institute, created in memory of Rodrigo Guimarães by his family and his lifelong friend, Elizabeth Rothfield, aims to promote education, stimulate a sense of justice and equality, and broaden horizons. In partnership with Nova SBE, the Rodrigo Guimarães Institute created the Rodrigo Guimarães Scholarship to support students who have financial constraints and wish to do more and better.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must:

  • Have Portuguese citizenship or a permanent residence in Portugal
  • Be enrolled in the Master’s in Management or the Master’s in Economics
  • Have applied for and are eligible for a Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship of 100 %
  • Have a converted GPA equal to or above 14 (0-20)

The Santander Erasmus Scholarships aim to support undergraduate and master’s students who wish to participate in Erasmus+ mobility programmes. They are intended to support students with financial constraints, enabling access to international study opportunities.

Eligibility

Mandatory conditions:

  • Be enrolled in a higher education institution with a Santander agreement and be participating in an eligible Erasmus+ programme;
  • Have applied for an Erasmus+ mobility programme.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a single PDF including:

  • ID card / Citizen Card / Passport;
  • Proof of enrolment in a Nova SBE Bachelor’s or Master’s programme;
  • Proof of Erasmus+ application;
  • IRS Model 3 for the most recent fiscal year:
    • Students with income declared in Portugal must submit the full IRS Model 3; in cases of shared custody, documents from both legal guardians are required. If the student has independent income, their own IRS must be submitted;
    • Students with income declared outside Portugal must submit an official tax declaration issued by the competent authority in the country of origin, including household composition, gross annual income, and financial situation;
  • Motivation letter explaining the importance of the Santander Erasmus Scholarship in their personal and professional journey.

The scholarship provides €1,000 in financial support, and 6 scholarships will be awarded.

The Santander Apoio Universitário 2026 Scholarship - 1st Edition aim to promote equal opportunities in higher education. They are intended for university students, with a focus on students with lower financial support and students with disabilities.

Eligibility

  • Be enrolled in a participating higher education institution and attending a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Higher Professional Technical programme;
  • Have academic performance (except first-year Bachelor students).

Application

Applicants must submit a single PDF including:

  • ID card / Citizen Card / Passport;
  • Proof of enrolment in a Nova SBE Bachelor’s or Master’s programme;
  • IRS Model 3 for the most recent fiscal year:
    • Students with income declared in Portugal must submit the full IRS Model 3; in cases of shared custody, documents from both legal guardians are required. If the student has independent income, their own IRS must be submitted;

To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must cumulatively meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Be enrolled in the first year of the Master’s in Business Analytics 
  • Have a converted Bachelor’s GPA equal to or above 16 (0-20) 
  • Have applied for and are eligible for a Nova SBE Social Mobility Scholarship or a Nova SBE Continuity Scholarship of 100 %
  • Have residence in Portuguese territory and have full proficiency in Portuguese and English

The application for the Unipartner Scholarship should be submitted by completing the application form, which will be shared with the students. The application must include, in a single PDF document

Other Scholarships

The Portuguese Government provides financial support to students in need. The funds are provided by DGES (Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior/ Higher-Directorate for Higher Education) and administrated by SASNOVA (Serviços de Ação Social da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa/ Social Action Services). These scholarships are for students in the first and second cycles at NOVA University Lisbon, intending to make it possible for students with reduced financial abilities to begin and continue their studies.

Merit scholarships are awarded by Public and Private Higher Education establishments to students with exceptional performance, regardless of their income, under the Regulation for the Attribution of Merit Scholarships to Students of Higher Education Institutions.

Nova SBE is a member of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, which signals that its finance curriculum is closely aligned with professional practice and the CFA Program.

Eligible students may apply for the CFA Program Student Scholarship, which reduces the CFA Program exam registration fee to USD 600, plus applicable taxes, for scholarships awarded from 4 March 2026 onwards. The scholarship includes the Premium Registration Package, including access to the Practice Pack.

At Nova SBE, only students enrolled in the Master’s in Finance or the International Master’s in Finance are eligible to apply.

The CMA Scholarship allows high-achieving students to complete the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) program at no cost.

Each year, Nova SBE and IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) will make available ten scholarships that cover the costs of the CMA® program. These scholarships are available for Nova SBE Master's in Finance students. However, Bachelor’s students or students from the Master’s in Management may also apply. The Municipality of Cascais has prioritized the investment in social policies to promote education, teaching and vocational training of young people in the municipality.

Thus, the Municipality of Cascais intends to promote the Scholarship Program for Higher Education Students residing in the municipality.

This program aims to provide economic aid to students who wish to pursue their academic education and enter higher education, by awarding scholarships that contribute towards the education costs of students with fewer financial resources, thus contributing to facilitating access to quality higher education.

The Associação Duarte Tarré awards scholarships each year to promote the social integration of young students, aged between 18 and 25 years old, who are living in Portugal and are enrolled in a Higher Education institution and have proven financial constraints to promote their educational and professional development.

The GMAT Talent & Opportunity Scholarship celebrates excellence, diversity, and inclusion in graduate management education. Up to ten selected applicants will receive a €5,300 support package, including different benefits (additional details here). The Fundação Amélia de Mello Distinguished Work Project Award recognizes highly accomplished graduate students who have produced exceptional work projects of outstanding scholarly quality.

Value

The prize has a value of € 1 500.

Eligibility

All students enrolled in a Master’s program who have concluded their work project by the end of the 2024/25 academic year.

The awards are given annually to the best Master's work project, following a rotation cycle among the various programs, in the following order:

Year 1: Master’s in Management/International Master’s in Management

Year 2: Master’s in Finance

Year 3: Master’s in Economics/International Development & Public Policy

Year 4: Master’s in Business Analytics/Impact Entrepreneurship & Innovation

For the 2024/25 academic year, the considered Work Projects will be the ones developed by students of the Master’s in Economics and the Master’s in International Development & Public Policy.

The criterion for choosing the best Master's thesis is based on the work project grade.

The Committee will select the best Master's work project that exemplifies exceptional research to receive special recognition as the most outstanding, original contribution to the field at this level.
