Faculty & Researchers

For over 40 years, Nova SBE has been at the forefront of creating a global positive impact through research. Our primary areas are Economics, Finance, and Management, developed mainly within our Knowledge Centers, Laboratories, and Hubs. We aim to go beyond the conventional, attracting academics to our school who seek to make a difference and challenge the current landscape. Our Knowledge Centers drive research, fostering collaboration between more practical and theoretical research, academic courses, and executive education. Additionally, our research laboratories support faculty, promoting collective knowledge creation, and our hubs serve as crucial spaces for connection and collaboration with society.

After seven months of joining Nova SBE, I am very happy with my career choice. The students are excellent, and care about their grades, but, more importantly, they care about each other and the world. Although I consider myself predominantly a researcher, Nova SBE students have restored my love of teaching.

The Faculty recruitment begins in the Faculty Affairs, which is responsible for the entire recruitment cycle, together with the Recruitment Committee for each academic area.

Onboarding

Face-to-face onboarding is responsibility of Faculty Affairs and takes place on the first days of September. Sessions held on the first month of new hired faculty for the development of activities focused on social and formal training introduction to Nova SBE culture of being and working.
Introducing the Teaching Support, responsible for most of the teaching activities.
The Research Office team supports the management of scientific projects throughout their complete cycle, from applications for competitive funding to planning, development, and scientific outreach.

Development/Teaching Activities

Faculty performance evaluation takes place every 3 years.
Although the tri-annual performance evaluation, faculty are evaluated over time. This evaluation allows for changes in their category.
The Faculty Affairs area is also responsible for Faculty development providing internal and external training.

Life On Campus

All Faculty (according to their category) should participate in:

- Different school committees;
- Research Activities;
- Teaching Activities;
- Activities that promote well-being and engagement with the community.

Offboarding

Allows us to ensure that everything runs smoothly and also allows us to get feedback.
