Inês Póvoa is an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) at the NOVA School of Business and Economics, where she teaches Economics, and an economist at the Banco de Portugal, working on financial literacy and sustainable finance. She has also worked at the Secretariat of State for Energy and Climate and the Ministry of Economy and Maritime Affairs.

She holds a PhD in Economics from NOVA School of Business and Economics, supervised by Maria A. Cunha-e-Sá, with research on the firm-level impacts of extreme weather events. Her current research interests include environmental economics and policy impact evaluation.
