Nova SBE Course Wins the International Blended Learning Award
Awards | 07 April 2022 Nova SBE Course Wins the International Blended Learning Award

The international Blended Learning Award (BLA), which recognizes the best curricular units in a blended-learning module and the faculty’s efforts to help solve the challenges COVID-19 brought, has just distinguished the Financial Statement Analysis course, lectured by Professor Francisco Martins, from Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE), as one of the best in this regulation.

The first edition of the BLA, which was created to award the best blended-learning courses in three main knowledge areas – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Social Sciences, and Health and Well-Being – has just distinguished Financial Statement Analysis, a Nova SBE course, as one of the best in this format.

Under the STEM scope, the Financial Statement Analysis course, lectured by Nova SBE Professor Francisco Martins, was recognized with this award for the level of excellence and his teaching approach in light of the pandemic. About this award, Professor Francisco underlines the "importance of three key pedagogical principles when designing the course: customized learning, community-based learning, and project-based learning."

The BLA is a product of a consortium created by NOVA University Lisbon, Universidade de Roma Tor Vergata, and Universidade Autónoma de Madrid that, during the pandemic, joined forces so that together they could improve their infrastructures and blended-learning courses offer.

The most innovative part of this initiative is the fact that all partner universities offer a group of curricular units and allow an authentic virtual mobility experience to all the students of these higher education institutions.

The Financial Statement Analysis is part of the Nova SBE Master’s in Finance program. Please check this page if you want to learn more about this program.
