Nova SBE presents Venture Lab and its initiatives
Research | 18 October 2017 Nova SBE presents Venture Lab and its initiatives

Last October 3rdNova School of Business and Economics launched Nova SBE Venture Lab’s new cowork space – the Container Park – as well as its acceleration program Zero Gravity. This program is one of many activities and initiatives of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, which intends to be a catalyst for innovation for national and international entrepreneurs, as well as for companies.

To accomplish this mission, Nova SBE’s Venture Lab establishes strong connections among academia, the start-up ecosystem, and the corporate world. Aside from being a knowledge center, the Venture Lab also works with three different areas: Education, Research, and Acceleration & Incubation. Education and Research have a more academic dynamic, which is enriched by entrepreneurship courses (created for undergraduate and master students), a master in management, and thesis programs in Research or Living Labs. Acceleration and Incubation increase corporate entrepreneurship with programs such the Zero Gravity program presented last October 3rd. See below the Container Park’s Sunset Event photos, at Nova SBE.

By covering these areas, the Venture Lab guarantees that it cannot only help young talents find innovative business solutions and with that go international, but also increase corporate entrepreneurship by assisting companies with whom they partner with. There are projects like “Nestlé Fora da Casca” (for innovative entrepreneurs inside and outside the start-up ecosystem), the Santander Totta’s Innovation Lab (a unique program in which Santander executives and a team from Nova SBE turn the school into an authentic laboratory for unique research), or Hackthon Ageas (a 24h marathon, in which all participants must come up with solutions for three business proposals).
