In 2025, Nova SBE made history in Portuguese higher education by positioning its International Master’s in Management in the 4th position in the Financial Times Master's in Management ranking.

This is the highest result achieved by the program to date, moving up four positions from the previous year. It is also the first time a Portuguese school has been included among the world's top five in management, establishing Nova SBE as a leading institution in Portugal.

The program stood out across multiple key indicators. In the “International Work Mobility” criterion, the school ranked 6th worldwide, rising six places, highlighting the global career paths of its graduates. The “Alumni Network” indicator, which measures the effectiveness of the alumni network for career opportunities, jumped from 41st in 2024 to 19th this year. In 2025, the “Career Services” indicator, which assesses the counselling and support given to students to secure placements with prestigious international recruiters, also leapt from 41st in 2024 to 22nd. Another highlight is the 99 % employability rate, confirming Nova SBE graduates’ immediate integration into the global job market. The school’s results also reflect the diversity of its faculty, with 56 % of the faculty being international, a key factor in fostering a multicultural academic experience and preparing students for global professional environments.

Sustainability also remained one of Nova SBE’s strong points, rising this year to 11th place worldwide in the indicator that evaluates schools’ strategies to reduce their carbon footprint.

“This achievement marks the first time a Portuguese School’s management program ranks in the world’s top five, establishing Nova SBE as a standard of international excellence,” said Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE. “Having one of our flagship programs in the global top five is more than a recognition. It demonstrates that Portugal has a Business School capable of training global leaders with a tangible impact on society. This is a historic milestone for Nova SBE, for the country, and for all who believe that academic excellence and international relevance can go hand in hand”. He added, “We are extremely proud of these results because they represent more than just a ranking position. Above all, they acknowledge the collective effort of our community, which translates into real impact on the lives of our students, alumni, faculty, and staff.”

The Financial Times Masters in Management ranking evaluates the world’s top 100 Management Master’s programs annually, based on 19 criteria that include career progression, internationalization, diversity, and sustainability.
