On February 19, Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) will host another edition of the Nova SBE Career Fair. This annual recruitment and networking event will bring together over 75 national and international organizations seeking to attract the talent and excellence of Nova SBE students.
Among the confirmed companies are American Express, Auchan Retail Portugal, Banco de Portugal, CTT, Mondelez International, Nestlé, Roland Berger, and TAP Air Portugal, among others. These organizations will offer professional opportunities in more than 20 countries, including Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Netherlands, as well as in Portugal.
Beyond exploring different corporate realities and recruitment processes, students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of thematic sessions on career paths and professional opportunities. The event will also feature networking moments, allowing for more direct and informal interactions between students and company representatives.
Sofia Pena Monteiro, Director of Careers at Nova SBE, highlights: "The Nova SBE Career Fair reflects our vision of the importance of bridging the gap between students and the professional world. We aim to prepare our talent pool for a global job market, empowering them to be change agents and ensuring that, regardless of where they start their careers, they can contribute to society's long-term growth.".
International Mobility: An Opportunity for Portugal’s Growth
The international mobility of young Portuguese professionals has been a growing phenomenon, with many seeking work experiences abroad. While this movement may pose a challenge to talent retention in Portugal, it also represents a strategic opportunity for the country's development.
Young professionals working abroad develop global competencies, build international networks, and gain experience in highly competitive environments. Many eventually return to Portugal, bringing back know-how, capital, and an innovative vision, either by launching new ventures or strengthening the competitiveness of national organizations. Additionally, those who remain abroad often maintain economic ties with Portugal, whether through remittances, investments, or business collaborations.
The Nova SBE Career Fair plays a key role in fostering connections between students and companies, ensuring that regardless of where their professional journeys begin, young talent can continue to contribute to Portugal’s economic and social development.
