The Dean of the Nova School of Business & Economics, Professor Pedro Oliveira, on behalf of the entire academic community, expresses the deepest sorrow for the passing of José António Girão, esteemed Professor of our school and former Vice-Rector of the NOVA University Lisbon, where he advocated the development of the entrepreneurship area.

José António Girão was part of the Founding Committee of Nova SBE, which was the true driving force behind a new chapter in the history of education in Portugal and has been honored this January by the School. He was also President of the Scientific Council of this institution.

He was always guided by positivism and the search for solutions rather than problems. We will never have enough words to thank him for his commitment and dedication to this School.
