Student Advising

The student advisor service aims to provide personalized support to all students – across their journey, helping them make decisions in key aspects that may affect their student life, connecting each of them to other teams if needed. – The Student Advisor will follow the students ‘progression in the program and will be proactive in reaching out to students that show signs of academic, financial, health or other personal difficulties, to assist in building a plan to guarantee a smooth and successful journey.

Social Integration Activities

New at Nova

New at Nova is an integration program that aims to facilitate the integration and adaptation of first-year bachelor’s students during their first semester at Nova SBE. It is designed to smooth academic, social and personal integration and enhance self-esteem. Buddies are students from the second and third years that volunteer to give support to a group of new students, and that through this program also have the chance to develop a great set of interpersonal skills while helping create a collaborative, open, and inclusive environment.

Clubs & Students' Union

CEMS Club Lisbon (CCL) is part of a global alliance: there are 30 worldwide CEMS Clubs. Their purpose is to build a cohesive CEMS community in Lisbon to make the CEMS semester as epic and unforgettable as possible. CCL tries its best to be involved in the CEMSies daily lives by providing a more complete experience in their home or exchange school.

CCL offers all kinds of events in three broad categories: Social Events, Sustainability, and Corporate Relations.

The NOMA Marketing Consulting Student Club, previously known as Nova Marketing Club, was founded in 2015. What started as an internal club for students with a passion for Marketing is today a professional consulting club focused on strategic marketing for companies in Portugal. From national companies like Wheel – Frozen Yogurt to multinationals like Vodafone, Uber, and Google, the NOMA Marketing Consulting Student Club has many amazing projects.

However, that is by far not everything that the NOMA Marketing Consulting Student Club has to offer. Workshops about current Marketing topics and breakfasts with interesting companies make this club an amazing opportunity for all students who seek a professional career in this area.

The NOVAFRICA Student Group (NSG) is the students' counterpart of the Nova SBE NOVAFRICA Knowledge Center. It was founded in 2011 by a group of Nova SBE students who were passionate about Development Economics. Their mission is to produce and promote research with an impact in less developed parts of the world, with an emphasis on Africa.

The club is a tight-knit group of members who are involved in research studies that the center produces. Some of them are abroad pursuing projects implemented in countries such as Angola, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, São Tome and Príncipe, and even Portugal.

In addition to being part of research projects and supporting the Nova SBE NOVAFRICA Knowledge Center at its conferences and events, the group also organizes activities to "put Economics at the service of people."

The discussions include topics like Financial Inclusion, Entrepreneurship, Climate Change, Migrations, and Conflict, among others, and are student-led and facilitated by faculty at Nova SBE.

Nova Case Team (NCT) was founded in the second semester of the school year of 2017/18. It has three departments: Operations, Marketing, and Events. The club focuses on case studies and business games and is aimed at both Bachelor's and Master's students. Besides that, they also partner with consulting companies to offer business workshops based on problem solving and on information synthesis.

Nova Case Team seeks to develop soft skills and hard skills through the case studies it solves.

The Nova Debate Club promotes weekly debates where students compete with each other or debate freely, sharing points of view with interesting and challenging speakers. The Nova Debate Club aims to promote debate and argumentation among Nova SBE students. The club wants participants to challenge the status quo and to develop an informed and curious view of the world around them.

The events and debates of the club make it possible for students to develop themselves and complete their school journey by improving their argumentation, rhetoric, and public speaking skills and opening their minds to new and creative ways of thinking.

Nova Economics Club (NEC) is the Economics club at Nova SBE. Its goal is to spread economic knowledge through the Nova SBE community and society in general. For that, it developed a scientific research podcast, published articles and podcast episodes, and conducts a social impact project.

The Nova Investment Club (NIC) was created in 2010, intending to join the students' enthusiasm for topics outside of the world of finance with the students' curiosity about recent developments in financial markets. 

Considering each one's preferences, the club allocates its members across three core divisions: Financial Markets, Investment Banking and Private Equity. Each division interacts in regular meetings to enable broader and more comprehensive analyses, development of critical thinking, and debates on on-going macroeconomic events. Above all, promoting the students' financial knowledge through various events is a key driver that keeps NIC members passionate.

The Undergraduate Division of the Nova Investment Club (NICUD) was founded in 2013. One of its main purposes is to help its members learn more about the fields of corporate finance, investing, and capital markets, particularly by acting as a connection to company representatives and job opportunities in these areas.

The majority of the club's events are exclusive to Alumni and member communities. However, NIC-UD holds occasional activities open to the public, aimed at sparking interest in finance and providing guidance on career development.

Nova Junior Consulting (NJC), Nova SBE's junior enterprise consulting firm. One of the best junior consulting groups in Portugal, according to JADE Portugal.

The club provides strategic management consulting services through its many projects each semester. With their diverse they are able to provide companies like L'Oréal and Millennial Bank with top-notch student services. In addition, they also work on at least one pro bono project each semester.

In addition to providing services to clients, NJC also plans two signature events every year: Consulting Week and NJC Crack the Case, which aims to help students prepare for consulting interviews.

The Portfolio Management Club is a student-led finance association which aims to provide hands-on experience in multi-asset class portfolio management. PMC operates specialised departments focused on Investments, Macroeconomics and Quantitative Research. The club's ultimate goal is to prepare their members for successful careers in finance.

Meet oikos Lisbon! From conferences to the toilet and awareness events, you cross paths with oikos Lisbon everywhere. The main message: help us set an example for sustainability! 

Their goal is tough: Nova SBE aims to become Portugal's greenest school. This describes the club at its best: the open-minded and visionary members are highly engaged in sustainability and environmental issues at Nova SBE and truly want to have an impact. 

The next steps are clear: sustainability must be a focus at the campus from the beginning. From setting up an effective composting system to enhancing plant-based choices available on campus and improving connectivity to Nova SBE with greener mobility options, the club is working on several projects to reach its goal. Who would not want to help them and turn Nova SBE into a role model for Portugal or, who knows, even Europe and the world?

The club will build on these passions while learning from professionals within the industry and benefit from their insights via talks and networking events.

As a small group of students, the club has private networking sessions with professionals and a partnership with LAUREL – the Portuguese association of luxury brands – which allows its members to put themselves out there and start working on their future in this area.

The Nova SBE Mindspace Student Club aims to create a safe and inclusive community of students that fosters self-acceptance, resilience, mental well-being, and meaningful relationships. 

The club wants to enable its members to try out new experiences and expand their knowledge on topics that are too often forgotten in day-to-day life. The Nova SBE Mindspace Student Club members can join weekly online meditation sessions and regular outside workouts, yoga sessions, workshops, and much more.

The Nova SBE Music Student Club was founded in 2021 to connect, develop, and promote musicians by creating an environment where they are free to express their artistic selves. The music club creates and manages bands and hosts events such as concerts, jam and songwriting sessions, and music workshops.

Studies show that LGBTQI+ inclusion/diversity remains a controversial topic in education, the workplace, and everyday life. Therefore, the Nova SBE Pride Association Student Club wants to end stigmata and tabus and educate its peers on the importance of being aware of such. The student club mainly focuses on community building, career development, and student affairs. They aim to raise awareness of LGBTQI+ subjects in higher education, career development, opportunities, and beyond. They aspire to achieve these goals through a diverse team. Therefore, it is essential to emphasize that everyone is welcome to join in, regardless of gender and/or sexual identity/orientation.

The club was founded in 2011 by two students who were enthusiastic about entrepreneurship and wanted to create awareness in a corporate-oriented school. Besides real-life problem-solving contests and workshops with EY, the club brings together proactive and creative students with startup founders and startups from several industries to foster entrepreneurial thinking and challenge students to take a risk!

The main goal of the club is to create a sustainable student-run organization and bring openness, out-of-the-box thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit to Nova SBE. And, who knows, maybe the next generation of founders will start their journey from here!

The Nova SBE Thirst Project Student Club is the first NGO student club at Nova SBE. The club aims to raise society's awareness to end the global water crisis. In addition, the club organizes events to raise funds to build freshwater wells in developing regions of the world.

It all started in 2008 when eight college students from Los Angeles learned about the global water crisis and how waterborne diseases kill more children than anything. Thus began the Thirst Project, with several teams spread across the United States of America. Fast forward to 2019, Thirst Project Portugal was created, and with it, a network of teams of enthusiastic students in schools and universities all over the country.

The Nova Skills Association (NSA) is one of the first Nova SBE clubs, founded on the belief that soft skills are the most powerful catalyzers of talent and drivers of success. NSA is committed to offering students an annual Soft Skills Training Program, providing their members with real management experience. Their training program has over 3000 people who attend several workshops that aim to develop the students' soft skills. Some of the workshops include oral communication, interview preparation, personal branding, emotional intelligence, and creativity.

The Nova Venture Capital and Private Equity Club offers networking, education, and career opportunities in venture capital and private equity. Nova SBE Social Consulting Student Club (NSC) offers wide-ranging and meaningful consulting experiences by combining high-quality pro bono consulting with a deep focus on the social sector. It stands out as a unique initiative that fosters both professional growth and social responsibility. 

With 58 active members and over 169 projects completed, NSC empowers students to develop top-tier consulting skills while making a tangible difference. Founded in 2009 by Pedro Almeida, the club is proud to be the only student consulting club in Portugal that is part of the European Student Consulting Network. It also maintains long-term partnerships with esteemed organizations such as INVERTO, a BCG company, which supports the club through mentorship, workshops, and other development opportunities. 

NSC’s expertise spans across key strategic areas such as designing and evaluating business strategies, crafting effective marketing and communication plans, supporting financial sourcing including funding and partnerships, and measuring social impact through the development of meaningful metrics and methodologies.

The Nova Surf Club was founded in 2013 to promote surfing among students, a goal the club continues to pursue with the dedication of its members and the essential support of its sponsors and partners. Over the years, the club has grown into a vibrant student-led community that creates inclusive events catering to all experience levels. 

For the club, surfing is more than a sport. It’s a culture built on deep passion for the ocean and its ecosystem. That’s why its activities go beyond the waves: it organises recurring beach clean-ups to support ocean protection, and it champions topics like sustainability and gender equality through inspiring talks and events. 

From the iconic Surf Festival, held once every semester, to surf trips along the Portuguese coast, sunset parties, and large Lisbon-based events, the club aims to celebrate everything that surf culture represents enjoying the ocean, connecting with others, and creating lasting memories. 

With every semester, it works to elevate its events by blending surfing, music, and purpose. What makes Nova Surf Club special is the energy it brings to campus life, building not just great memories, but a strong, inclusive, and ocean-loving community.

Nova Tech Club is a university-led organization that fosters a diverse and dynamic community of students, alumni, and industry professionals passionate about technology. Re-founded in 2024, the club bridges academic learning with real-world tech applications through events, hands-on projects, and industry partnerships. 

Its mission is to empower students with essential tech knowledge and professional skills, preparing them for future careers in innovation and digital transformation. It is the only club entirely focused on technology at Nova SBE, with members coming from over 9 programs and 15 nationalities. 

With six specialized departments — Tech & Innovation, Research & Knowledge, Sales & Relations, Events & Operations, Marketing, and HR — the club organizes impactful initiatives, including AI development projects, career workshops, and collaborations with partners like Cisco, SAP, and OFFR. 

Its values are built on diversity, inclusivity, continuity, and practical learning. The club aims to become the reference point for student-led technological innovation at Nova SBE.

Founded on Women's International Day (March 8, 2016), it is the first school club in Portugal to address gender equality. Nova Women in Business aims to empower the role of women in society and in the business world. The club brings positive changes to the school's community by offering external and internal events. Nova Women in Business believes in an equal academic and professional environment, and its mission is to create awareness of gender bias by cooperating with the Nova SBE community and other schools.

Nova Women in Business organizes different activities, such as panels, field trips, workshops, and networking sessions. Deloitte, Novabase, Microsoft, and L'Oréal are some of the partners that the club had in previous events.

The club is a student-run investment fund founded in 2017 by students who wanted to make people aware of the fact that there are various angles to approach finance.

Currently, the club interacts with students and companies through finance-related workshops, events like the "Stock-picking Competition", and partnerships with companies and financial agents.

This group of young and ambitious students who seek to develop their club and create a professional investment fund, and therefore create true value, always keep their vision in mind: uniting finance with social impact. Moreover, they truly live that vision since all returns made from competitions and other events are given to social organizations.

Tuna ForTuna was created on February 15, 1993, by a group of Nova SBE friends that wanted to be connected with music while studying.

They can be found at their weekly rehearsals and festival, which usually takes place at the beginning of the second semester. They can also be seen in other events: ForTuna has been invited to several festivals all throughout the country, from Braga to Faro, and not forgetting the beautiful islands of the Azores, and some of them even abroad.

At ForTuna, a wide scope of instruments are played and can be learned, including traditional Portuguese ones, such as mandolin and cavaquinho.

Nova SBE Real Estate Student Club (NREC) is a student club dedicated to raising awareness about the pivotal role of the real estate market in global economies. The club keeps our community informed with the latest market trends and financial insights, while also facilitating networking opportunities with industry leaders.  

Through partnerships with top names in the sector, NREC offers professional job opportunities, pro bono consulting services, engaging events, and insightful articles. NREC also collaborate on projects—such as affordable housing initiatives for students—to empower the next generation of real estate professionals and tackle the housing crisis in Portugal.

Nova SU

Nova SBE Students’ Union

Founded in March 1986, the Nova SBE Students' Union (SU) was born with a mission: to represent all Nova SBE students.

As its representative body, it stands as a house of excellence — excellence in the country's best events, initiatives, student clubs, and some of the best sports teams in university championships. Nova SBE students' excellence starts at the Nova SBE SU.

The Nova SBE SU, established at the Carcavelos Campus, has a long history marked by events such as the first edition of Economia Viva in 2016, which positioned Nova SBE as a national and international reference, the organization of ENEEG in 2017, and ENDA Cascais in September 2018. Other academic initiatives include debates, research events, case competitions, and more.

Beyond academics, Nova SU organizes some of the best parties and cultural events, fostering the creative and cultural spirit of Nova SBE students. Additionally, Nova SBE SU student clubs are a fundamental pillar in enhancing the student experience.

And we cannot forget sports, one of the core pillars of Nova SBE. Nova SBE SU has successfully established four student sports teams in this area, earning numerous national and international trophies.
