Debtanu Lahiri
Assistant Professor
Strategy and Entrepreneurship

Debtanu obtained his PhD in Strategy and Business Policy from HEC Paris, in 2022. His research interests broadly lie at the intersection of business and politics, an area formally recognized in academia as ‘Non-Market Strategy’. He relies on quantitative empirical techniques on archival data to reveal interesting insights about firms’ relationships with various non-market stakeholders. Some of his current works-in-progress also incorporate elements of organizational political ideology and geo-politics, with firms’ non-market strategies.

Debtanu was born and raised in India, where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, and a Master’s in Human Resource Management. He also gathered industry work experience of around four years back, before moving to France in 2017 to pursue his doctoral education. He looks forward to making meaningful contributions to the strategy literature that is grounded in theory, while having practical implications not just for business practitioners, but also for policy makers.
