The 2022 edition of the Estoril Conferences is about to take place, and it will bring on September 1 and 2 some of the most influential world leaders and political decision-makers to Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) to debate global issues.

Under the topic “Rebalancing Our World: A Call To The Purpose Generation,” Nova SBE will gather, at the Carcavelos Campus, renowned world leaders for the 2022 Estoril Conferences, a global platform in which some of humanity’s biggest challenges are discussed, and solutions to inspire change are promoted.

The 2022 edition of this important event is centered around three of the main global challenges – the planet, people, and peace – and will gather, on September 1 and 2, more than 70 speakers, divided into more than 40 sessions, for an open dialogue on crucial pressing issues such as climate change, technology for social impact, mental health, educational systems, trust in political institutions, among others.

Among the confirmed names are distinguished individuals such as the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who will participate in the event’s opening session, and Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, to close the debate cycle on peace and leave a message of hope for the future. Other important speakers will be Mário Centeno, Governor of Banco de Portugal [Bank of Portugal], Bertrand Piccard, Initiator & Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation, Irene Heemskerk, Head of the Climate Change Centre at the European Central Bank, or Peter Bakker, President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

The 2022 Estoril Conferences also has the participation of some of the main business schools of the CEMS Alliance, namely Aalto University (Finland), London School of Business and Economics (United Kingdom), Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), and Ivey Business School (Canada), which will organize live and simultaneous debates and theme sessions with Portugal, something that never happened before.

The in-person participation is free of charge. However, registration is mandatory and limited to the available seats. Please visit the initiative’s website to register and check the confirmed agenda so far.
