Awards | 04 July 2018 Nova SBE Students conquer 2nd and 3rd places of the Primus Inter Pares Awards

The Primus Inter Pares award finale – which awards an MBA at a national or internationally renowned business school – took place July 2nd, at 08:30 p.m., and two of Nova School of Business & Economics students were awarded the second and third places of this unique prize.

After analyzing 100 applications, the Primus Inter Pares finalists were announced. The award ceremony, which is a joint venture of Banco Santander and the weekly paper Expresso, took place this Monday, July 2nd, at Sud Lisboa, and elected Inês Montalvão Cunha (Bachelor’s in Economics and Master’s in Finance at Nova SBE) and Inês Pedro dos Santos (Bachelor’s in Management at Católica-Lisbon and Master’s in Management at Nova SBE) as two of this event’s main winners, having been awarded second and third places respectively.

The Primus Inter Pares award, which is in its 15th edition, elects the three future leaders of the Economics, Management, and Engineering areas and awards them a fully paid MBA in a national or international business school. From the list of choices, there is IESE, in Barcelona, IE Business School, in Madrid, The Lisbon MBA (from Católica-Lisbon and Nova SBE), ISCTE and ISEG (in Lisbon) and also the Porto Business School. Fourth and fifth places are awarded a post-graduation course.

The winner of this year’s edition was João Ramadas (Bachelor’s in Management at ISCTE and a Master’s at Católica-Lisbon), followed by the Nova SBE students who proudly accepted their 2nd and 3rd places. Behind them are three months of numerous tests, trials, and challenges that meant to put their skills to the test and allowed the jury to access their competences – namely their leadership skills, creativity, and team spirit – in all areas before conducting a demanding half-hour interview with them.

Both Inês Cunha and Inês Santos can now add their names to the Primus Inter Pares winning list that, for over 15 years, awarded 75 students and received a total of 1000 applications.

Congratulations to both of them!
