The 17th edition of the Primus Inter Pares award, a well-known initiative from Santander bank and Expresso that awards a full MBA scholarship at a national or international business school, took place last month and had Catarina Adegas Ferreira, a Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) student, as the big winner.
The Inter Pares Award, an initiative aimed at providing privileged opportunities to students in their academic training to award their academic performance and moral and human qualities, organized its 17th edition, which took place on September 28, at Museu de Arte Antiga [Museum of Ancient Art] and student Catarina Adegas Ferreira, from the Nova SBE International Master’s in Management, was the big winner.
Catarina, who has a Bachelor’s from Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics and finished her Master’s at Nova SBE, was, thus, distinguished as the best among her peers. When receiving the award, she highlighted the importance of the soft skills she acquired throughout her academic journey, and extracurricular activities such as volunteering in Madagascar and Jamaica as unique opportunities that foster an open attitude and allow for intercultural synergies with those who strive for positive change.
The Inter Pares Award was created in the 2003/2004 academic year and, throughout its many editions, has received circa 1500 applications. From the list of MBA choices that the winners can choose from, two of them must be Portuguese, and the list includes The Lisbon MBA (from Nova SBE e da Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics), IESE, IE Business School, ISCTE Business School, ISEG, and Porto Business School.
Catarina Adegas Ferreira formalized her application and got personalized help from the Careers @ Nova SBE team (Hovione Atrium, sala A206), who helps students collect all the necessary documents, issue the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate, and also submit the application to Egor. This company manages the final applications and organizes several tests to select the five finalists presented to the jury.
