After signing, in 2019, the “New Plastics Economy Global Commitment,” Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) officially became part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation community of profiled universities, recognizing all the projects and initiatives it has launched, its commitment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the way it intends to participate in rebuilding the future alongside national and international stakeholders when it comes to circular economy.

After signing Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s New Plastics Economy Global Commitment alongside 450 renowned entities from all around the world, Nova SBE was now officially made eligible by the well-known institution as one of the universities whose projects, initiatives, and actions have a fundamental role in the positive transformation of our world in regards to circular economy.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has been identifying the higher education institutions worldwide that are making noteworthy contributions to rethink and rebuild the future through a circular economy, thus acknowledging the fundamental role universities play in creating synergies and pushing the boundaries of knowledge towards a more just and sustainable world.

Nova SBE thus integrates a list of profiled universities that stand out for the great work they have been doing in five key driver areas of circular economy – teaching, research, campus management, student-led projects, and influence and leadership.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation was established in 2010 and works with companies, governments, and academia to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy and help build a regenerative and restorative economy, therefore, being a world reference in sustainability.

This recognition reinforces Nova SBE’s mission in being a community dedicated to the development of talent and knowledge that impacts the world and the continuous work it has done towards a better future.
