Promoted by Nova | 12 August 2021 Nova SBE launches the Space for Business Program

Nova SBE, in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the universities St. Gallen (Switzerland), and the Rotterdam School of Management (Netherlands), launches the first program in Europe focused on the economy and management of the space sector: Space for Business.

This partnership of excellence between three internationally renowned management schools aims to deepen knowledge about the Space industry, identify opportunities and challenges for the growth of companies in the area, and build a network of contacts of professionals in the sector.

In this way, Space for Business was not only designed for those working in the Space sector but also for all those interested in the space market. This training also responds to the needs of many businesspeople and entrepreneurs, as Space is now assumed as a new economic frontier, with several emerging business models around infrastructures, products, and services developed for space markets. Finance and Morgan Stanley predict that this sector will profit up to $1 trillion in 2040. Space technology could also help solve some of the big challenges of the future, such as climate change and Internet access.

The program will last for six months, with several stays and face-to-face classes in the three schools and ESA's infrastructures. One of the objectives of the program is to apply the acquired knowledge to an individual project, which should be presented to the European Space Technology and Research Center in the Netherlands.

The initiative is supported by Ricardo Conde, president of Portugal Space: «Education is a fundamental tool to ensure that Europe has the human resources necessary to create sustainable and secure growth for the future of the space sector. Initiatives such as the European Space Business Programme are fundamental for academia, industry, and business to speak the same language and contribute to the innovation ecosystem, which will make a fundamental contribution to European sovereignty».

Space for Business will start on November 22, 2021. The applications are open until the end of October.
