Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) will host the 35th Annual Conference of EUPRIO (European Association of Communication Professionals in Higher Education), dedicated this year to the theme “Driving Innovation: Communication at the Heart of European Universities’ Transformation.” The event will bring together around 400 communication professionals from more than 130 European universities.
Recognized as one of the most relevant forums for academic communication in Europe, the conference offers a unique opportunity to strengthen collaborative networks and foster strategic partnerships, while promoting the exchange of experiences, best practices, and emerging trends, and encouraging reflection on the sector’s main challenges. The choice of Nova SBE to host this prestigious event reinforces the school’s positioning as a European hub for academic communication, aligning with its vision for digital innovation and artificial intelligence in higher education communication and marketing.
From August 20 to 22, Nova SBE’s Carcavelos campus will host a packed program of parallel sessions and presentations, including, on August 21, a keynote by Marcel Salathé, PI of the Lab of Digital Epidemiology and Co-Director of the EPFL AI Center (Switzerland), who will address the topic “The AI Revolution in Real Time: Making Sense of a World in Transformation.”
The parallel sessions, led by prestigious institutions such as the University of Bonn, University of West, University of Edinburgh, Aalto University, and ETH Zürich, will cover highly relevant topics, including crisis communication strategies, the student journey, the impact of political communication, and the challenge of maintaining humanity in an era dominated by artificial intelligence.
The extensive program will also feature the presentation of the ten best communication projects of the year (August 21), with the winners announced on August 22 during the closing session, delivered by Nova SBE Professor Pedro Gardete, on “AI & Automation in Higher Education Marketing.”
“We are delighted to host the 35th Annual EUPRIO Conference, an event that brings together some of the most influential voices in European academic communication. This outstanding program, which combines impactful keynotes, workshops, and debates, reinforces the importance of knowledge sharing and innovation as drivers of university transformation,” said Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE.
EUPRIO is the European network connecting communication, marketing, and public relations professionals in higher education. Its annual conference is a prime space for discussing emerging trends, sharing best practices, and strengthening academic communication in Europe.
