Society | 05 February 2025 Mourning note: Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV

It is with deep respect that Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) marks the passing of His Highness, Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV. As the spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslim community and founder of the Aga Khan Development Network, he dedicated his life to advancing social, cultural, and economic development on a global scale.

Nova SBE had the honor of collaborating with the Aga Khan Foundation on research and education initiatives, particularly in the fields of science, health, and social inclusion. A key outcome of this partnership is the Nova SBE Westmont Institute of Tourism & Hospitality, a project that embodies the shared vision of the school, Westmont Hospitality Group, and the Aga Khan Foundation for sustainable development and excellence in education.

In this time of mourning, the school and its community extend their deepest condolences to his family and to the Ismaili community. His legacy will continue to inspire our commitment to knowledge and social progress.

“The impact of His Highness, Aga Khan IV, transcended borders and generations, and his vision will continue to inspire us. At Nova SBE, we feel privileged and honored to have been part of this journey of impact through education and research,” stated Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE.
