Registration to participate in the 8th edition of the Estoril Conferences is now open. To ensure your presence at the event, which will take place between September 1 and 2, simply register here.

The Estoril Conferences will return to the Nova SBE Carcavelos Campus in 2023 and, from this year on, will take place annually. Under the theme Re-Humanize the World: Planet, Peace, Policies and People/Health, the Estoril Conferences present a two-day agenda that promotes an open and inclusive dialogue about a more sustainable future based on more equality, equity, justice and peace.

The main goal of the Estoril Conferences is to foster the participation of world leaders from the social, economic, political and health spheres, as well as social activists and the younger generations, in an inspiring dialogue to lead to action and create effective changes towards a more just, equitable, sustainable and inclusive future. This year, under the theme Re-Humanize the World: Planet, People, Peace, Policies and People/Health, it proposes a reflection on what we are doing for others to change our planet. What are we doing for People, Planet, Peace, Health and New Policies? How can we help Re-Humanize our planet? How can we be more active and effective in finding solutions? What is our responsibility to the younger generations? How can we work together to bring about this change?

These are some of the questions that will be the target of reflection that intends to involve civil society, politicians, world leaders and, above all, the younger generations in an inspiring debate that promotes action.

Speakers already confirmed include Gerard Ryle (Pulitzer Prize 2017), Richard Roberts (Nobel in Medicine 1993) and Aaron Ciechanover (Nobel in Chemistry 2004). These three internationally recognized names will be joined by Sameera Chukkapalli (Obama Foundation), Erden Eruç (first person to complete a solo circumnavigation of the Earth powered exclusively by human motive force), Alexandra Palt (L'Oreal Foundation) and João de Macedo (giant wave surfer and co-founder of the Save The Waves Coalition).

Under the management of Nova SBE and in a co-organization with NOVA Medical School, this event counts, once again, with the support of the Municipality of Cascais and Tourism of Portugal as co-hosts.  The first day of the event (September 1) is dedicated to the most comprehensive themes (Planet, Peace and Policies) with Health and People reserved for the second day (September 2).
