In addition to being Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Private Equity elective at NovaSBE, Luis Mota Duarte is currently Head of M&A of the Sonae SGPS group, non-Executive Board Member of Fashion retailer Salsa and an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford where he develops and lectures finance and investment cases for students participating in the Oxford Chicago Valuation Programme, Oxford Finance Lab and MBA & MFE program elective courses.
Luis has developed his professional career in Investment Banking and Private Equity. Having spent 14 years in London prior to returning to Portugal, he spent the last 8 years as a Director at Bridgepoint’s Buyout team. He also worked at Salomon Smith Barney, Goldman Sachs and GE´s European Business Development team. His experience includes the acquisition, funding, restructuring and refinancing of several businesses in various sectors, countries, structures and size ranges.
