Leveraging Large Language Models in Business Research: Concepts and Applications

This lecture provides an overview of Large Language Models (LLMs), starting with their fundamental concepts and developmental milestones. We will explore the capabilities and functionalities of LLMs, highlighting their transformative impact across various domains. The talk will then delve into practical research applications through two of my working papers. The first paper examines how LLMs are used for text mining to decode semantic strategies in livestream selling on TikTok, revealing the impact of these strategies on sales performance. The second paper discusses the use of LLMs as agent models in behavioral operations studies, showcasing their potential in simulating and understanding human decision-making processes
