As a school that helps students discover where they can excel and nourishes the bright minds who will lead us through the future, Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) is proud to inform that Geyue Fang, Dinis Tarré, Mikolaj Rejterowski, Pedro Bio, Vittorio Robiglio, and Simon Rödder were among the Top 3 Finalists of the CEMS Best Business Project of the Year Award.

CEMS MIM Master’s students Geyue Fang, Dinis Tarré, Mikolaj Rejterowski, Pedro Bio, Vittorio Robiglio, and Simon Rödder were among the Top 3 Finalists of the CEMS Best Business Project of the Year with the business project they produced for McKinsey & Company entitled “Perceptual Mapping of the Football Market Worldwide.”

With this business project, the CEMS MIM Team aimed at building a tool that allows a detailed understanding of the complex and global football market dynamics that can be used as a guide for brand management and positioning strategies by clubs, leagues, and associations. With this tool, McKinsey & Company would increase its involvement in the football industry, establish an industry standard, and access cross-selling opportunities.

CEMS Business Projects are consultancy-like projects designed as a real-life learning experience for students. Thus, international teams solve a real business problem as a part-time activity, work independently, and are co-tutored by academic and corporate representatives. Aside from helping the develop skills, CEMS Business Projects also reinforce the partnership between universities and companies in jointly shaping the teams’ learning process in international management.

The CEMS Best Business Project of the Year Award aims to recognize the quality of the consultancy projects teams across the globe produce. Being in the TOP3 finalists is a major achievement. Firstly, 33 schools vote to select the best five proposals out of 200 CEMS Business. Secondly, there is a second selection to narrow the number to three, and only afterward, there is a final selection.

Simon Rödder, the CEMS MIM Team leader reinforced the team’s hard work and commitment by reaffirming that “We are all extremely delighted that our hard, dedicated work throughout the final semester was awarded as one of the very best Business Projects in the global CEMS network. Moreover, we are very glad that the CEMS program provided us this opportunity in the first place: to build something from scratch that is of actual value for McKinsey [& Company] as well as the world of football.”

Congratulations to Nova SBE CEMS MIM Team Geyue Fang, Dinis Tarré, Mikolaj Rejterowski, Pedro Bio, Vittorio Robiglio, and Simon Rödder for this accolade!
