The Lisbon MBA Católica Nova has just renewed its accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) for another five years, one of the most prestigious international entities in the field of executive education. Valid through 2030, this renewal reinforces the program’s status of excellence and consolidates its position among the top business schools worldwide. Accredited by AMBA since 2007, The Lisbon MBA Católica Nova has consistently stood out for its academic quality, strategic vision, leadership development, faculty excellence, and the professional success of its graduates.
With Triple Crown accreditation (AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB), The Lisbon MBA Católica Nova is part of an elite group representing less than 1% of MBAs and business schools globally recognized for excellence across all dimensions of executive education.
AMBA accreditation grants all students and alumni of The Lisbon MBA Católica Nova free membership to AMBA’s global community, which includes over 60,000 members across more than 150 countries, offering privileged access to networking opportunities, career development, and thought leadership.
This accreditation is the result of a rigorous evaluation conducted by an international panel of academic leaders from top business schools. The quality of the faculty, the program’s strategic vision, leadership development, and student outcomes were among the most highly praised aspects. The panel also highlighted the strong collaboration between the partner institutions – CATÓLICA-LISBON and Nova SBE – and the active support of their respective Deans, as well as the program’s solid connection to the business ecosystem.
Maria José Amich, Executive Director of The Lisbon MBA, stated, “This reaccreditation is a recognition of our commitment to innovation, academic rigor, and the development of impactful leaders. It is an honor to be among the top 2% of MBAs globally that achieve this level of excellence. Our International MBA (full-time) and Executive MBA (part-time) programs stand out for their strong international component, ranking 3rd globally in the Financial Times ranking for International Experience, thanks to our holistic learning approach, entrepreneurial focus, and partnership with MIT Sloan.”
Filipe Santos, Dean of CATÓLICA-LISBON, and Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE, added: “The success of The Lisbon MBA is a testament to the strength of our partnership and the exceptional careers of our graduates. Together, CATÓLICA-LISBON and Nova SBE, in collaboration with MIT Sloan, offer a transformative experience that strengthens Portugal’s presence on the global executive education map. We remain committed to developing inclusive, purpose-driven leaders capable of transforming the business world and society.”
Andrew Main Wilson, CEO of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA), commented: “We are delighted to confirm the reaccreditation of The Lisbon MBA Católica Nova. I especially commend the active involvement of alumni in the program, fostering a dynamic and enriching network. It is a privilege to have these institutions as part of the AMBA community.”
This milestone comes at a time of growing international recognition for The Lisbon MBA Católica Nova, which ranks among the Top 25 in Europe in the Financial Times Global MBA 2025 and Executive MBA 2024 rankings, remaining the only Portuguese MBA featured since 2013. The program also achieved a Top 20 global position in the QS Executive MBA Ranking 2025.
