The prestigious Financial Times Masters in Finance ranking, which annually evaluates the 70 best Master's in Finance programs worldwide, places Nova SBE’s International Master’s in Finance in 6th place globally, up one position from 2024 and five positions since 2023.
This progress consolidates Nova SBE's presence in the elite group of Finance programs, ranking it 5th in Europe and reaffirming its national leadership, having held 1st place in Portugal for over ten years.
Nova SBE stands out for consistent and superior performance across most evaluated criteria. In particular, the school secured a top position in the international career mobility indicator for graduates, ranking 2nd globally, an improvement of three positions compared to the previous year. This indicator evaluates the international component of graduates’ careers, analyzing the proportion of alumni who have worked – or are currently working – outside Portugal and their home country.
In the international course experience indicator (which assesses students’ international experience during the program), Nova SBE ranks 4th globally, with many students completing exchange programs, internships – or both – outside Portugal and their home countries.
In sustainability, Nova SBE ranks 8th globally for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) content and dedicated hours in compulsory courses and modules, marking the first inclusion of this indicator in the ranking. Additionally, in the carbon footprint criterion, Nova SBE is again among the top-ranked institutions worldwide, holding 10th place globally.
Other highlights include the international faculty criterion, with 56% of international faculty, a five-percentage-point increase from the previous year, and 49% female students in the International Master’s in Finance, a 17-percentage-point increase compared to 2024.
Furthermore, Nova SBE ranks 16th in the Alumni Network Rank, a 20-place rise in this indicator that reflects the impact of the alumni network and the school’s support in career development. The school also boasts a high level of satisfaction among International Master’s in Finance alumni, with a score of 9.57 out of 10.

The Financial Times Masters in Finance 2025 ranking is based on a detailed analysis of 19 indicators that measure graduates' career progress, the school's diversity and international experience, as well as sustainability and research criteria.
