Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) has partnered with New York University (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering to create a transatlantic program focusing on two strategic and complementary fields: Management (Nova SBE) and Management of Technology (NYU Tandon).
This new program allows students to earn distinct master’s degrees from two of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions located in key cultural and economic centers: Lisbon and New York.
Under this partnership agreement, students enrolled in either the International Master’s in Management or the Master’s in Management (both from Nova SBE) will have the chance to experience an immersive academic journey that starts in Lisbon and extends to New York. The program begins with one semester at Nova SBE, followed by three semesters at NYU Tandon.
Designed to prepare future global leaders, the new Dual Degree in Management of Technology Program at Nova SBE and NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers an outstanding academic foundation in both management and technology, along with a meaningful international experience. This will enable students not only to acquire new knowledge but also to build a broad and diverse network within two leading academic communities.
As the NYU Tandon School of Engineering Master’s in MOT is accredited as a STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), graduates may be eligible to work in the United States for up to three years under the Optional Practical Training (OPT) initiative.
"The launch of this new program in partnership with New York University, a world-renowned institution with a long tradition of academic excellence, represents another step in consolidating Nova SBE's international offerings. The introduction of this program in Management of Technology also extends and strengthens our positioning in the field of management and technological innovation, as well as the integration of technology into business and society. This positioning was recently reinforced with the opening of the new Institute in Digital, Data, and Design.
We remain committed to providing distinctive global experiences and training that enhance the international credentials of our students and expand their opportunities in the global and multicultural job market, in strategic and innovative areas," says Pedro Oliveira, Dean of Nova SBE.
"Over the course of a career that has taken me from my native Turkey to New York, I've seen how crucial it is to experience different cultures and develop a global mindset for effective collaboration and problem solving—especially in today's borderless technology and business fields," said NYU Tandon Senior Vice Dean Eray Aydil. "The NYU-Nova SBE partnership lets future tech leaders immerse themselves in two major innovation hubs, building international networks that will enhance both their lives and careers."
Spanning two years, the first cohort of the new Dual Degree program will start in the academic year 2025/26. Applications for Nova SBE’s International Master’s in Management and Master’s in Management programs opened on November 20, 2024.
