Portugal will be represented by ten athletes in the FINA World Swimming Championship, which will take place from December 11th to December 16th in Hangzhou, China and Nova School of Business & Economics’ (Nova SBE) student Raquel Pereira will be one of the selected champions to be there.
The FINA World Championships are known for being one of the most renowned championships for aquatics sports, among which are swimming, diving, high diving, open water swimming, and many others. This year, and under the theme “Water is Our World”, the Portuguese national team will compete in the short course category and Raquel Pereira, a first-year Bachelor’s in Management student at Nova SBE, will be one of the athletes to represent Portugal in this competition.
In fact, on December 1st, just before the Portuguese Swimming Federation announced Raquel's name, NOVA’s swimming team won 3rd collective place in the National College Swimming Championship in Matosinhos, and the team won a total of 16 medals.
Before competing in the FINA World Swimming Championships, the Portuguese Swimming Federation announced that the national team will travel to Macau to have a training internship from December 1st to December 8th and will afterwards head to Hangzhou.
Congratulations to our NOVA Students and our very own Raquel Pereira. Good luck!
