Florence is an Invited Assistant Professor at NOVA SBE and an Invited Lecturer at Forward College. She holds a PhD in Management from NOVA School of Business and Economics. Previously, she was an Invited Assistant Professor in the Management Department of ISEG Lisbon School of Economics and Management, within the Accounting, Auditing and Taxation Scientific Area. She teaches (or has taught) accounting, corporate financial reporting, financial statement analysis and research methods, at both bachelor and master-level programs. Prior to pursuing academia, she worked as a capital markets' analyst in the banking industry in Portugal, and as a planning and control, and afterwards, business development senior analyst in the telecom industry in Brazil. She founded and managed her own company and worked in business development for online retailers. She also collaborates with companies as a Supervisory Board member. Her current research interests are focused on disclosure (risk, financial, accounting, corporate social responsibility) and its relationship with the formal and informal institutional environment, corporate governance, and performance. She had her research in these topics presented in main academic conferences in Europe and in the United States.
