Andrej Smirnov is a PhD student at Nova SBE. His research interest include development economics, migration, economics of conflict and empirical political economy. His methodological areas of expertise include (quasi-) experimental impact evaluations, micro econometric analysis and machine learning approaches. Previously, Andrej interned at the EBRD and worked as a RA at the ISDC and at DeZIM in Berlin on topics in migration and behavioural economics. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin.
