Youtha Cuypers is an Assistant Professor in Strategy at Nova School of Business and Economics. Prior to joining Nova SBE Youtha was Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. She obtained her PhD in Organization and Strategy at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
Youtha´s research interests focus on different aspects of mergers and acquisitions; international joint-ventures and supplier-buyer collaborations. Her work examines the determinants of relationship duration and the performance implications of inter-organizational collaboration and M&As; drawing in particular on research on experiential learning and experience spillovers. In addition, her research goes beyond the financial impact of these corporate development activities by examining how they affect different stakeholders and how they affect, and are affected by, ESG issues. In parallel, Youtha also works on two other streams of work focusing on the role of top management teams in strategic decision making and on entrepreneurship.
Her work has appeared in two of the leading journals in strategic management and international business; i.e., the Strategic Management Journal and Journal of International Business Studies, as well as having been presented at leading international academic conferences; where it has also received numerous awards; in addition to having been published in the Best Papers Proceedings of the Academy of Management Annual Conference. Youtha´s teaching interests and experience include Strategy, International Business and International Management.
