Filipa Castanheira has been training executives for over 14 years, with a clear focus: helping people understand themselves better and reflect on their role within organizations.
In her pedagogical approach, science and practice come together—she brings academic research and concepts to the classroom (studies and concepts that help structure what people experience), but she likes to think that she also brings questions.
Her work with executives focuses on human behaviour in organizations, including leadership, team management, well-being and stress, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and organizational culture. She helps give meaning to experiences, frames issues, offers new perspectives, and focuses on the grey areas, promoting flexibility in thinking.
She believes that theories exist to help make sense of everyday organizational life and are therefore inseparable from practice. She aims to empower participants to think critically, question their own patterns, and develop responses that are aligned with their specific context.
As a result, her sessions offer a deeply human learning experience, with space for introspection, group discussion, moments of insight, and public commitments to change.
Filipa Castanheira brings a keen understanding of the business world into the classroom while maintaining a strong connection to academia, where she researches topics such as emotions at work, occupational stress, generational dynamics in organizations, and organizational well-being. She is the author of around 40 scientific articles and book chapters. She holds a PhD in Social Psychology and both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Social and Organizational Psychology from the University of Lisbon.
Filipa Castanheira believes that teaching is an exercise in presence, that the most competent people are those who hold few certainties, and that staying at the forefront of her field depends on three things: studying, engaging with companies, and learning from the younger generations — tomorrow’s leaders.
