Specialized in servant leadership, organizational purpose, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work, Milton de Sousa helps leaders prepare for a world in transformation - one where people and technology coexist and co-create value.
At Nova SBE, he previously served as Director of International Development and Academic Director of the CEMS master’s in international management (MIM). He is also a co-founder of the Leadership for Impact Knowledge Center and serves as Academic Director of executive education programs such as Managing with AI, AI for HR and Talent Management, and Empowering Leaders with AI.
His research and practice lie at the intersection of leadership, organizations, and technology, with a particular focus on how AI reshapes management and work. In collaboration with Nova SBE, he recently took on the role of Interim Chief Operating and People Officer at Health AI, a Geneva-based organization dedicated to the governance of AI in healthcare.
Widely recognized for his ability to design transformative learning experiences, Milton combines critical thinking, active methodologies, storytelling, and reflective practice to help leaders find meaning in their work and foster purpose-driven organizational cultures.
His professional journey began as an Electrical and Computer Engineer, after which he held international management positions. He led consulting projects in innovation, strategy, and human resources management for major corporations.
He also served as Chairman of the Estoril Conferences and Director of MBA Programs at the Rotterdam School of Management, before joining Nova SBE in 2015 to support the school’s international expansion.
In 2024, he published the book O Líder pelo Sentido (The Leader Through Meaning), exploring how leaders can cultivate organizational purpose and create conditions for employees to find meaning in their work in an era of automation.
An experienced speaker, from TEDx talks to television and radio, Milton is also a regular commentator on the podcast “Querido Líder”.
