Dr. Herrero is Adjunct Assistant Professor at NOVA SBE in “Management of Non-For-Profits” since 2019 and a post-Doc scholar funded by the Institute for Science and Technology for 2019-2020.

Dr. Herrero holds a PhD at the London School of Economics (2014) where she developed an innovative work applying Complexity Theory to Sustainability, in particular modelling patterns of behaviour for building multi-stakeholder partnerships. She is author of various scientific articles (forthcoming) and the leading figure in the production of two books.

Dr. Herrero is also an international educator, researcher, and facilitator in the field of System Change. She is co-founder of Action for Systemic Impact and Co-Chair of Catalyst2030 for the Spanish and Portugal Chapters. Silvia has hold board positions in various organizations being the latest with ISG, International Network of Facilitators for Social Innovation. Previous to her research work Silvia expended 10 years in the practice of Sustainability living and working in 3 continents under the assignments of consultancy companies, Aid organizations and for many years with AVINA Foundation. She played various roles supporting over a hundred of social entrepreneurs related to impact investment, corporate social responsibility, partnership building and change management.

Her entrepreneurial and innovative work has been awarded on several occasions with the fellowship by international entrepreneurs networks such Ashoka, VIVA fellows and LEAD International. She also holds a MBA on Corporate Social Responsibility (Brazil) and a Bachelor degree on Environmental Science (Spain). She speaks 4 languages and is mother of two boys.
