Author, columnist, and journalist for television, radio, and print, as well as interviewer, public speaker, consultant, entrepreneur, and professor of Communication & Leadership, Laurinda Alves has devoted her professional life to writing, communicating, and strengthening individual and collective potential through strategic communication training.
Whether teaching university students or executives, she emphasizes the importance of clear and incisive communication. A specialist in the development of communication tools and strategic techniques, she empowers her audiences through methods that build confidence and authenticity, enabling more effective and impactful communication.
Her career began in the media — she was a columnist for Público, O Independente, and Observador, founded and directed the magazine XIX, and presented and produced programs for RTP and SIC.
Laurinda has collaborated with Nova SBE since 2011, where she created the Communication & Leadership course and founded the Academy of Purpose, an initiative designed to strengthen purpose, citizenship, and human skills across the school’s students, faculty, and staff.
She also served as Executive Director of the Estoril Conferences, an international dialogue platform on peace, sustainability, technology, and human rights, and as Director for Inclusion & Diversity at Nova SBE.
An author of hundreds of columns and interviews, she has published nine books, always with a particular focus on human relationships, ethics, and citizenship.
In Executive Education, her teaching is practical and human-centered, combining clarity in communication, active listening, storytelling, and experiential learning. Her sessions promote reflection and dialogue, reinforcing both a sense of belonging and a strategic approach to effective performance.
