Her research lies at the intersection of branding and consumer wellbeing, exploring how different forms of consumption (material, experiential, or symbolic) influence happiness and human behavior.
Sofia’s work has been published in leading international journals such as Psychology & Marketing and Electronic Commerce Research and presented at top conferences, including the Association for Consumer Research (ACR) and the European Marketing Academy (EMAC).
Before dedicating herself to academia, Sofia Kousi worked in multinational corporations and global consultancies such as PepsiCo, Interbrand, and ACNielsen, where she developed brand strategies and market research for clients including Kodak, ING, Reckitt Benckiser, Prozac, Jameson, and Petrobras.
This experience gave her an integrated perspective on the science and practice of marketing, which she now brings to her classes and collaborative projects with startups and brand leaders.
