Sofia Kousi
Associate Professor

Combining scientific rigor with practical brand management experience, Sofia Kousi helps executives and organizations apply evidence-based insights to marketing. Her work shows how brands can foster wellbeing in their relationships with employees and customers, while achieving sustainable growth.

At Nova SBE, she teaches Brand Management and Evidence-based Practices for Wellbeing.

Her research lies at the intersection of branding and consumer wellbeing, exploring how different forms of consumption (material, experiential, or symbolic) influence happiness and human behavior.

Sofia’s work has been published in leading international journals such as Psychology & Marketing and Electronic Commerce Research and presented at top conferences, including the Association for Consumer Research (ACR) and the European Marketing Academy (EMAC).

Before dedicating herself to academia, Sofia Kousi worked in multinational corporations and global consultancies such as PepsiCo, Interbrand, and ACNielsen, where she developed brand strategies and market research for clients including Kodak, ING, Reckitt Benckiser, Prozac, Jameson, and Petrobras.

This experience gave her an integrated perspective on the science and practice of marketing, which she now brings to her classes and collaborative projects with startups and brand leaders.

Sofia Kousi offers leaders a clear, evidence-based view of how brands can support wellbeing while driving sustainable growth.

She holds a PhD in Marketing from the Athens University of Economics and Business, an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business, and Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Communication from the University of Pennsylvania, earned through the Wharton School and the Annenberg School for Communication, respectively.
