Graham Miller is internationally recognized as one of the leading voices in sustainable business and responsible tourism.

An accomplished academic and researcher, his work explores the mechanisms that drive sustainability across social and economic systems, with a particular focus on the tourism and hospitality sectors.

At Nova SBE, he holds the Rodrigo Guimarães Chair of Sustainable Business and serves as Academic Director of the Westmont Institute for Tourism & Hospitality.

Before joining Nova SBE, he served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of Surrey, where he led the university’s sustainability and employability agendas, and as Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, a leadership role that combined academic and strategic management across one of the UK’s largest faculties. 

He also served as Chair of the Considerate Group, a consultancy promoting sustainable practices in the hospitality industry through data-driven analysis of environmental performance.

Professor Miller is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (UK) and has been internationally recognized for his contributions to advancing sustainability in business and tourism. 

He served as co-editor of the Journal of Sustainable Tourism, the leading global academic journal in its field, and collaborated with the World Economic Forum as a member of the Global Agenda Council for the Future of Sustainable Tourism.

Graham stands out for his ability to translate scientific knowledge and systems thinking into actionable approaches for management and decision-making. His extensive academic and corporate leadership experience, combined with a global perspective on sustainability and innovation, enables him to help executives rethink business models that align profitability, impact, and purpose.

Graham Miller believes that sustainability should no longer be an extension of business strategy but its very core. His mission is to empower leaders and organizations to align purpose, impact, and performance, fostering a more responsible and enduring model of growth.

Graham Miller holds a PhD in Management from the University of Surrey, where he also earned a Master’s in Tourism Management. He completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education at the University of Westminster and holds a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational studies from the University of Salford (UK).
