Over the past two decades, Duarte Júlio Pitta Ferraz has built an international career that brings together strategic consulting, corporate governance, and business leadership, with experience spanning multiple continents and sectors.
He is currently Lead Partner at IVENS Governance Advisors, where he advises and develops Boards of Directors and senior management teams of large companies and business groups.
Combining global experience with strategic insight, Duarte Júlio Pitta Ferraz brings to Nova SBE Executive Education a practical perspective on governance and leadership in complex, multicultural settings, as well as on ethics and risk management in uncertain environments.
Before pursuing an international leadership career at Shell, he worked at McKinsey and KPMG, where he strengthened his expertise in corporate strategic consulting.
At Shell, he developed a global commercial trajectory, leading projects and business units across five continents from Madrid, London, Beijing, and Singapore, in roles focused on management, transformation, and business development.
During his time in Asia, he chaired an organisation under the supervision of Shell’s Board of Directors in Singapore, dedicated to supporting vulnerable local communities. In this role, he mobilised 300 volunteers and raised over USD 500,000 in just six months — a success story recognised globally within the company.
