Doctorate in Finance from University of Texas at Austin after completing her master's and bachelor's education in Economics at Koc University in Istanbul. She is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Nova School of Business and Economics. Prior to joining Nova, she worked as an Assistant Professor at University of Mannheim. Irem teaches the core corporate finance course together with the elective course in bankruptcy and restructuring at the Master's in Finance program at Nova SBE. She has research in various topics including capital structure, business relations, financial distress, international finance, real estate and household finance.
