Pedro Ferreira is an invited Full Professor at NovaSBE and a tenured Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. He received a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a M.Sc. in Technology and Policy, both from MIT, and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications Management and Policy from CMU. His research looks at how video streaming affects consumers and firms in the entertainment industry. He also studies how to improve video-based education. Pedro uses robust empirical identification methods to analyze large datasets obtained from in-vivo randomized field experiments. He published in all top academic journals in Information Systems and Marketing and served as Associate Editor for most of them. He is the recipient of the 2018 INFORMS Information Systems Society Early Career Award. Between 2005 and 2009, Pedro served in the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Governmental Agency for the Information Society, part of the Ministry for Science, Technology and Higher Education.
