On February 15th, the French Ministry for National Education, Youth, and Sports organized, within the french Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Ministerial Conference entitled "Investing in Education". Ana Balcão Reis, Scientific Director of the Nova SBE Economics of Education Knowledge Center, debated, together with other speakers such as Guy Waïss (Inspector-General for Education, Sport and Research, France), Helena Holmlund (Associate Professor, Institute for the Evaluation of the Labour Market and Education Policy, Sweden), and Dirk Hastedt (Executive Director, International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement), the education policies in Europe, reviewing the case-study "The experience of school rankings: validity and transparency of information and the InfoEscolas portal."
