Ciência 2025 already has a date! This year, Portugal’s largest science and technology gathering will take place from July 9 to 11 at the NOVA SBE campus in Carcavelos, under the theme “Science, Innovation, and Society.”

It will serve as a platform to promote and discuss the scientific, social, cultural, and economic impact of research in Portugal, exploring the intersection of science, innovation, and society — inspiring new ideas and fostering transformative collaborations.

Organized by the Foundation for Science and Technology and the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture – Ciência Viva, in close collaboration with NOVA University Lisbon and with the institutional support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the event features a diverse program with over 50 sessions and around 200 speakers. It aims to showcase the best in science, technology, and innovation in Portugal and abroad, with over 2,000 participants expected.

In 2025, the European Commission will be the guest of honour, with high-level representatives in the field of Science and Innovation in attendance.

The Science and Technology Exhibition, held in a large exhibition area, will bring together key players from the science and innovation ecosystem. The event will also feature an e-poster presentation area with submissions from PhD students across the country.
