Emanuel Gomes has worked with multinational corporations, SMEs, and government agencies on projects related to internationalization, strategic transformation, and digital service innovation. He has collaborated with organizations such as UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the Royal Institute of International Affairs/Chatham House, the British Embassy in Angola, and the Fundação Eduardo dos Santos. He has extensive experience in African markets, helping companies adapt global strategies to local realities.
Emanuel holds a PhD in Management from Coventry University, UK, where he also taught, and has spent 16 years in British academia at institutions including the University of Sheffield and the University of Birmingham. At Nova SBE, he currently serves as Academic Director of Executive Education and previously held the position of Associate Dean for Digital Transformation and Process Improvement.
As a scholar, he has led consulting and knowledge transfer projects between universities and companies, as well as executive training programs in multiple geographies. He has advised on strategic decisions in alliances, mergers and acquisitions, exports, and business model innovation.
His teaching approach emphasizes the practical application of knowledge, integrating educational technology and real-life decision-making projects. He promotes active participation and co-construction of knowledge, encouraging participants to address complex problems. He uses real cases, simulations, and collaborative projects with companies to build analytical skills and critical thinking with direct impact on professional performance.
Emanuel Gomes is the author of three books and over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles. His research focuses on internationalization, strategic alliances, servitization, and strategic agility. He serves as Regional Editor for Europe at the “Journal of Knowledge Management” and is a member of networks such as the Africa Research Group, Academy of International Business, International Conference of Business Servitization, and European Institute of Mergers and Acquisitions.
