António Freitas Miguel is a professor and researcher in the fields of Corporate Finance and Financial Markets. His experience combines high-level research with a solid track record in teaching, developed across both academic and corporate environments.
Before fully dedicating himself to academia, he gained professional experience in the financial sector, working with institutions such as Banco Cetelem and the Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority (Instituto de Seguros de Portugal).
His research focuses on investment funds and international investments, with articles published in leading scientific journals such as Review of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Journal of Banking and Finance.
He has been awarded multiple research grants by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), including funding for projects that examine the performance of investment funds across different markets and the behavioural differences of investors in various cultural and economic contexts.
