Nova School of Business and Economics is the business school to have been chosen by the producers of the TV program “Shark Tank” as the Portuguese “Knowledge Partner” for the project.
The school will have a dual mission:
- Guarantee the quality and impartiality of the selection process, by contributing to bringing the best possible candidates to the program;
- Prepare the finalists, by designing a training program to be delivered at the school, helping the candidates to argue in favor of the business they are working on and convincing the jury of the project’s viability and uniqueness.
The training program will be offered by Nova SBE – one of the top business schools in Europe – to the candidates that make it to the final and will primarily cover the theme of Entrepreneurship. During the classes, participants will have access to knowledge and tools in the area of Entrepreneurship and will be challenged to explain and “sell” their projects, adjusting their presentations to the demanding standards that the producers want for the Shark Tank. “The partnership between SIC and Nova SBE is crucial for boosting each participant’s level of confidence, attracting the best businesses and ensuring the quality of the program”, commented the producer of Shark Tank Portugal.
For Nova School of Business and Economics, the participation of the school offers a perfect and natural illustration of its continued commitment to social responsibility and working with the community, as stated by Professor Daniel Traça, Deputy Dean of Nova SBE: “this challenge of helping people make their dreams come true by turning a project into a real business will be an amazing opportunity for the school’s faculty”.
