John H. Cochrane, president of the American Finance Association and one of the world's leading economists specializing in finance and macroeconomics visited Nova School of Business and Economics on 13 October 2010 for the first session of the NOVA / Atrium Lecture Series in Macro and Finance.

In this session, with the theme "Inflation, Deflation, Debt and the Euro", Prof. Cochrane spoke for about an hour to an audience of 200 students, faculty, alumni and other guests and in the end answered some questions raised by them.

About John Cochrane:

Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, John Cochrane graduated in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley.
He is also an associate researcher at the National Bureau of Economic Researh U.S. and editor of some major U.S. magazines of Economics and Finance. His research work focuses on finance and macroeconomics, developing models that bridge between both areas.
In his most recent articles he addressed the dynamics of the stock market and bonds, the volatility of exchange rates, the term structure of interest rates, the return on risk capital, the liquidity premium in the share price and the relationship between stock prices and the economic cycle.
