The Nova SBE Executive Education has today been considered by the Financial Times to be among the top ten fastest-growing business schools in the world. This position has been in no small part due to the new program portfolio launched in 2016, which now includes 50 programs in 7 areas of expertise.
The school has also been recognized for its ever-improving program quality, having risen in both of the key FT world rankings for executive education programs. In the open enrolment ranking Nova SBE rose 6 places to 57th, while in the customized ranking, the school rose one place to 62nd in the world. The school was also ranked in the top 30 European schools in both rankings, and the top school in Portugal in terms of faculty quality.
To Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova School of Business and Economics, these results are a reflection of “the success of our strategy to become a truly global business school, at the forefront of best practice in education and research in the fields of Economics, Management and Finance”. Professor Traça goes on: “we are ever closer to fulfilling our ambitious project in Carcavelos, and these results give still further impetus to our belief that Portugal can compete with the best in the world as a center of excellence in education, through building on a culture of dedication, meritocracy and demanding standards”.
Luis Rodrigues, CEO of Nova SBE Executive Education, adds “our position in the top ten fastest-growing schools in the world is a source of great pride, but also increased responsibility. In part, these FT results for 2016 bring external recognition to what we had gleaned from our own internal indicators: first and foremost among these, we’ve seen consistently extraordinary feedback from our executive participants and our corporate clients regarding our programs.” He goes on: “Portuguese society and the Portuguese economy require ever more investment in training and development on the part of companies and individuals. At Nova, we are determined to carry on contributing to this improvement drive, working to find solutions which lead to sustained development across the board”.
José Crespo de Carvalho, Academic Coordinator of Nova SBE Executive Education, had this to say: “2017 has been an unforgettable year: we have recently won the prize for Best Educational Institution for People Management Programs, and now our Executive Education unit has been recognized among the top-ten fastest-growing schools in the world. We are undoubtedly on the world map of executive education excellence, a feat made possible by a great team, an unbeatable faculty body and an extraordinary client base who believe in what we do”.
