ABOUT

The aim of the “Improving Quality of Care in Europe” (IQCE) PhD program is to improve the quality and performance of European health care systems. Quality of care may be defined as the improvement of health in relation to the best possible outcome that could have been achieved were current medical knowledge applied. Although improving the quality of care is of utmost importance for European health care systems, previous research provides too little evidence about areas that lack quality of care.

PhD PROGRAM

The European Training Network (ETN) focuses on health economic research to improve the quality of care in Europe and each PhD thesis will focus on one of six dimensions of health care quality as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO): effectiveness, safety, efficiency, access, equitability, and acceptability. As the PhD program is very international, it will provide plenty opportunities for traveling and cultural exchange. Please find more detailed information at www.iqce.eu
